October Music Releases to Look Out For
With October underway, we turn our focus to another month of music releases. We will highlight the biggest and most anticipated October releases so you can catch up on what’s out and set your calendars and be prepared for new hits to add to your playlists.
YG – My Life 4Hunnid
Released October 2nd
YG has been going on for over a decade now and his latest 13 track offering is a star-studded affair. With features from Lil Wayne, Tyga, Chris Brown, and more, this album has the feel of an exclusive table in LA night club, pre-COVID of course.
The album has been well received so far and it puts YG’s emotions and frustrations of a difficult year out there for listeners. You can listen to the album on Spotify as well as other streaming platforms.
Capolow – Kid Next Door
Released October 9th
The Oakland rapper released his new 16-track album on October ninth and has had some positive buzz. The mixtape drop was preceded by the arrival of the single and music video for “Presidential” which is the second track off of the tape.
“Presidential” is an upbeat, feel-good, West Coast party track which is a taste of the fun and laid-back nature of Capolow, his music, and this mixtape. Check out the tape now, on Spotify.
Joyner Lucas – Evolution
Release Date: TBD?
We wrote about “Evolution” last month as it was expected on September 18th. Just three days prior, the Massachusetts rapper posted on Instagram that there was a delay with the release due to some samples still needing clearance. He promised fans that the album was done though and that he was planning for an October 16th release. The release date came and went on Friday the 16th, and we don’t see the EP any where online.
Hopefully, Lucas can get the legal stuff cleared up soon and we will have some new music ASAP. In the meantime, here is the single off of the pending EP, “Fall Slowly” feat. Ashanti, that was release earlier last month.
Ty Dolla $ign – Dream House
Release Date: October 23rd
So far, there isn’t a lot of information out about this album despite it just being a few days away from release. Several other sites have posted conflicting track lists and all of which are unconfirmed. That said, we are all excited to see what new music from Ty brings.
Check back with us next month to learn about November’s new music that you will won’t want to miss.
