September Music Releases to Look Out For

As we hit the midpoint of September, it’s a good time to take note of upcoming releases that you’ll want to check out. Here are some to add to your calendar.

Ava Max “Heaven & Hell”

Release Date: 9/18/20

Ava Max broke through to commercial success back in 2018 with the international hit “Sweet but Psycho” and her full album is now due out next week. The album is 15 tracks long and includes the aforementioned hit as well as another one of her big singles, “So Am I”.

Joyner Lucas “Evolution”

Release Date: 9/18/20

Joyner Lucas announced this EP last month and while the track list has not been officially confirmed, the EP is set to bring fans nine tracks. The Massachusetts native and two time Grammy nominee is looking to deliver for his fan base again. According to Genius, this is what Joyner had to say about the project:

“Evolution was created with zero intent to make mainstream records.
Evolution is my 1st person perspective and reality in today’s climate, as well as the past that made me who I am. I personally think this EP is the Joyner you been waiting for…”

2 Chainz “So Help Me God”

Release Date: 9/25/20

Rapper 2 Chainz is set to release his sixth studio album later this month which will be titled “So Help Me God”. Just a year removed from his last album, he continues to churn out albums as his debut one dropped in 2013 making this his sixth release in seven years. He certainly doesn’t make his fans wait long.

The album announcement followed the dropping of his new single “Money Maker” featuring Lil Wayne. Given this and the fact that he always has headline worthy collaborations, we can expect some good ones when the album drops.

Public Enemy “What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down”

Release Date: 9/25/20

Set to make their first release with Def Jam in over 20 years, hip hop OG’s Public Enemy will be dropping 17 new tracks on Friday, September 25th. Their latest release is jam packed with guests and will include guys like Nas, YG< Questlove, The Beastie Boys, and Ice-T. For the older fans this is sure to bring some nostalgic goodness to your ears.

While we only have half of the month left, there are some good releases on the way before we hit October. For fans of all ages and all genres, the rest of September is looking good. Make sure to check back here for October releases.
